City advocate seeks court nod to defend Kasab – What do we do with these people

According to the Times of India- Mumbai edition on 16th Dec 2008 this is what it has to say-

Mumbai: Arrested Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Ajmal Kasab, after all, may get a lawyer to represent him in the next three days. K B N Lam, a Mumbai advocate who has been a barrister at London’s famous Lincoln’s Inn and currently teaches law at Government Law College and K C law College, moved an application in a court on Monday expressing his willingness to accept Kasab’s case.

“I approached the Bombay high court’s legal aid cell and also the principal judge at the city civil and sessions Court to offer my legal services,’’ Lam said. His plea has been forwarded to a magistrate dealing with the case and Lam is likely to get a reply in the next three days.

Lam, who also holds a degree in economics from London University and has practised law in Mumbai for the past two decades, said his immediate priority was to meet Kasab. “I just feel that every accused has a right to legal representation. It is not for the people or police to decide who is guilty as it is the court’s job,’’ he said.

Lam said he was aware of the fact that he could be tar
geted by some people for taking up Kasab’s case. “I may be ostracised by some but that is something I care very little about. But I pray that physical attacks do not happen,’’ Lam said. He added he had no sympathy for the terrorists who attacked Mumbai but he still felt that Kasab had to be “treated humanely in accordance with the tenets of our democracy’’.

To start with, Lam wants to ensure that Kasab is not tortured or mistreated. “There is no point in beating a man half dead, no matter what his crime is. I will also explore if there is any possibility of allowing Kasab’s family in Pakistan to come down and meet him,’’ Lam said.
Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan said on Saturday that Kasab had a right to legal representation and a fair trial. Kasab too has written a letter to the Pakistani high commission asking for a lawyer. “An advocate can represent any accused in court,’’ Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa chairperson Rajiv Patil said.

Lam, who has an impressive academic record and taught mathematics and econometrics at the London School of Economics (LSE) for six years, said he would like to assist the court during the trial and also ensure that Kasab experienced the “full weight of India’s legal system’’. “After all, we are not a military dictatorship with kangaroo courts,’’ Lam said.

What do we do we these people who out of nowhere come out to defend these terrorists , he says that he says that every accused should be allowed to defend himself and people or police should not judge weather the person is guilty or not. In fact he also says he should be “treated humanely in accordance with the tenets of our democracy“.  I want to ask him what about the inhumane nature in which he killed so many people, had he lost anybody in this incident he would have understood what it means.

What about our human  rights, dont we have the right to hae dinner at a “leopold cafe” , dont we have the right to come to work without our families being worried? We talk about keeping the fire alive, lets give these guys some taste of the fire which is burning. In my opinion people like KBN Lam are eqaully resposible for the long running trials for such hideous acts.

Amir Ajmal Kasab says I want to meet Mum. – Stop this bullshit.

kasab1Now this guy says and cries that he wants to meet his mom in Pakistan and tell her that he was mislead by LeT , my question to him is did he give time to people to call thier loved ones when he killed them mercilessly. He was crying when nobody picked his call when he tried calling them from the hijaked Skoda. What about the IIT guy who was going to get married the very next week? didnt he wish to speak to his to be wife? what about the 2 year old kid(son of the Jew preist and his wife) who is still missing his parents. What about Taj GM Karambir Kang who could not save his wife and children? did he wish to speak to them and what about all those 200 odd people did these bastards give them a chance before killing them? werent they sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers of somebody or the other?

He should not be allowed to speak to anybody, infact he should be tortured to such an extent that he should feel like dying living every moment. I would also urge media not to publish such stories as you know the so called human rights activists will come to support him. These guys are not humans so human rights are not of them and if anybody does stand for him i will be the first person to teach them a lesson. What are we still doing with that Afzal Guru?

are we waiting for some militants to take some hostages and ask for his release? Our so called leaders are not able to hang a person who attacked the place where they work(if at all) what are they going to do to this AJmal Kasab???

Lets demand a speedy trial and subject him to a very horrific punishment which nobody can even think of and which would give nightmares to all the people who were trained along with KASAB.

kill this Bast#@@d.

My last days @ Netscribes

•April 23, 2008 • 6 Comments

Well after a stint of 4 years I have decided to move on, moving on from a gr8 team which i don’t know whether i would really get in any other company. Some management gurus say that effective team lead build gr8 teams but i disagree with that, i feel a gr8 team comprises of not just skilled people but people who share an equal passion, people who have common objectives, people who serve as very vital components required to pull off anything under the sun. I feel you cannot build a team like this , i feel there is a luck factor involved.

Maybe people do understand this but do not agree on the same, maybe their egos come in between their brains and their hearts. I am sorry guys that i have to move as i have other commitments in life as well. I hope we all get more opportunities in life to work together but till then i will miss you guyz.
